Sup Strangers- Catch Up Edition

Happy Monday! Well actually, as I type this it is currently Friday and I’m still on vacation. I feel like I’ve been a broken record this summer with the all the blog hiatuses I’ve been taking. I say I’ll keep it up and then well summer happens. With all the gorgeous nights we’ve been having all I’ve wanted to do was just enjoy them with friends, family and my pups. I always said when I started this blog that it was never going to make me miss out on making memories with my people. So I’ve been doing just that. Making memories and focusing on the things that are important to me. The thing I’ve noticed though from reading through the laundry list of blogs I do every morning, is that well I’m not the only one who has been focusing on things away from the blog. Summer is when we can just relax and enjoy time spent outside, away from the computer screen. That’s what I do for 7.5 hours a day, stare at a computer screen and truly the last thing I think about when I come home is continue to do it.

I’ve spent a lot of time this summer reflecting on a lot of things. As I’ve been away from my blog, I still read others. Its hard sometimes to not compare your life to others especially when blogs and social media are drowning with engagements, weddings, and baby announcements. I found myself wishing I was at those stages of my life and then I made myself stop and remember, everyone is different. Just because you may not be at that “stage” of your life doesn’t mean that it’s not a part of your plan. You’re just still writing your story.

I want my blog to be a story to look back on. I want to be able to look back on it years from now and remember why I started it. I started it for me (and from the constant persuasion from my best friend). We talked the other day and she reminded me that it’s okay to take a break from writing if it starts to feel forced. I enjoy doing it, I enjoy cooking, reading, and reading about others who may share the same love for life that I do. So for now, I’m going to be here when I feel like it’s right. To share what I’ve been up to, what I’ve been reading, cooking, and what I’m thinking because after all this little slice of the internet may not be something you necessarily care about, but you’re here right? You must be somewhat interested 🙂

So now that the boring stuff is out of the way. This is what my life lately has been like:
Crabs about 3 times a week…
Because that’s how things go in Maryland over the summer

And vacation in Myrtle Beach (leave my page now if you don’t want an overload of pics…I warned you)
No excuses just because you’re on vacation. Just means extra margaritas right?
Make that margaritas and martinis. Cold brew martinis. Be still my heart.
This every single day.
And plenty of nights out.
I’ll leave ya’ll with this. Two of my favorite things, still not sure why I didn’t bite the bullet and buy this glass and drink out of it every day from now till I die.

Glad to be back. Happy Monday. Not so happy to be going back to work. Bleh

xo, Jess
